My name is Josue, and one of the places that I like the most is the circus. I’m happy because the Atayde Hermanos Circus is now in Coyoacan! Circo Atayde is perhaps the oldest family-owned circus in the world. It started its performances in 1888. Today the circus is highly respected among the circus community.
There are many spectacular attractions! There is César, the most handsome horse trainer. He is elegant and loves posing with his horses. I also enjoy Gerardo’s act. He is one of the bravest men in the world. He is the lion tamer. He usually puts his head inside of a lion’s mouth.
The performers include acrobats, trapeze acts, musicians, and jugglers among others. One of the most common and loved acts is Victor’s. He is the best equilibrist in the world. His act includes plate spinning and the rolling globe. Another performer is Lupita, the contortionist. She is the most flexible woman I have ever seen. She can touch her feet with her nose. There is also another excellent performer. His name is James is the human cannonball. It is the most exciting act of them all. He gets into a cannon and is shot across the circus ring into a safety net. The tallest man in the circus is Jaime. He is the stilt walker. His stilts are three meters high, and he can walk very fast. Then, the clowns come out. They make the audience laugh. They are the funniest clowns in the world. At the end of the show, everybody is happy. However, this is the saddest day of my life because it is probably the last performance of Circo Atayte. One of the most famous circuses in the world may not open anymore.
